LIGUE 1 - Nîmes player taken into police custody for use of underage prostitutes

Published on: 20 October 2021

RMC Sport have confirmed Objectif Gard‘s initial reporting that a Nîmes player had been taken into police custody on Monday afternoon for alleged use of underage prostitutes.

The player in question reportedly went to the police station over the weekend to report that his car had been stolen by several young women. At the same time, one young woman – a minor – went to try and sell the car in question, before being threatened by the individuals she was dealing with, who kept the vehicle. She then went to the police station to report on the incidents.

She then explained to officers that the owner of the car – the Nîmes player in question – had paid for sexual relations with her, with one other minor and an adult also present. The player was then summoned to the station, where he was stopped and taken into police custody. An investigation has been opened for alleged use of underage prostitutes, and alleged organisation of events where minors had sexual relations with adults.

The player in question was absent for the team’s match against Ajaccio on Monday, while Nîmes-based journalist Romain Collet-Gaudin adds that the player is an international.
