LIGUE 1 - Pochettino does not want a microphone for Ligue 1 referees

Published on: 25 October 2021

While referees and players are said to be in favor of wearing a microphone for the refereeing duty, Paris Saint-Germain coach Mauricio Pochettino does not seem to agree. Indeed, the Argentine technician considers that if the microphone is an interesting tool in rugby, it is not sure that it brings anything beneficial to football.

“I remember at the 2017 Rugby World Cup in England it was great to hear what the referees were saying. But this sport has different codes that we cannot extrapolate. In football, I see no benefit. It would deprive us of a part of folklore and mystery that are part of this show that we love so much. I believe that certain myths must be preserved, ” he said in the columns of the weekly.
