Heart of Lions chief Randy Abbey is incensed by reports of denying paying bribes to referees following his side's impressive win over Hearts of Oak.
The Ghana FA Executive Committee member was said to be responding to allegations of influencing match officials by paying bribes as the reason for his club's impressive run in the Ghana Premier League.
Lions' moved to second in the Ghanaian top flight after their 2-1 win over Hearts of Oak last Sunday.
But the impressive win has been overshadowed by reports of Abbey's denial of paying bribes to match officials to lift his side.
The former Ghana FA spokesman has hit out at these reports insisting they were fabricated as he has never granted interviews in the wake of his club's progress.
"There has been a worrying trend of reports and quotes attributed to me when I have not granted any interviews," Abbey told GHANAsoccernet.com.
"I take great exception to this and I must say I am very unhappy with these reports.
"I don't know why journalists sit down and write stories embedded with quotes attribute to people when they have indeed not spoken to the individuals involved.
"I have never granted any interview after the game against Hearts and therefore these stories of me denying paying bribes to referees are simply fabrications without any basis.
"The media today must be very professional and ethical in their works and therefore must not be reporting on issues they indeed have no background and authority to."
