GHANAsoccernet.com brings to you live updates from the game between the Black Stars vs Côte d’Ivoire at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium in this international friendly.

Match Preview

Ivory Coast claimed a third consecutive victory courtesy of a 2-1 triumph over Burkina Faso on Saturday.

Second-half goals from Ibrahim Sangare and Amad Diallo turned the game on its head after Lassina Traore’s opener before the interval.

Patrice Beaumelle’s men are yet to taste defeat in any of their last five matches since a 1-0 loss to Japan in October 2020.

That was also the last time that Saturday’s visitors failed to find the back of the net, and they have since scored 11 goals in the subsequent five outings.

The last time both countries met in a competitive fixture was when the Elephants defeated the Black Stars 8-7 via penalty shootouts to win the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations which was staged in Equatorial Guinea.

Ghana fell to a narrow and painful 1-0 defeat against Morocco last Tuesday at the Prince Moulaye Abdellah Stadium, a game that was decided by Real Valladolid center-back Jawad El Yamiq's 67th-minute header.

Similarly, both teams have all qualified for the 2021 AFCON which will be staged early next year and engage each other this time to test themselves for the World Cup qualifiers and the upcoming continental Championship.

Officials for the game

Senegalese referee Douada Gueye has been appointed to officiate Saturday’s International friendly between Ghana and Ivory Coast.
