Liverpool, Chelsea target Guardiola wants kids to learn English

England will be the next destination for departing Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola.

The Mail on Sunday says Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has not yet given up on Guardiola and their hopes rose when the Spaniard suggested last week that he could still be persuaded to take a new job.

Guardiola had originally considered moving to London for his sabbatical year but is now eyeing New York with his wife, Cristina Serra, and his three children, all under 11.

He wants his children to learn English, which would help them settle if he does move to England for the 2013-14 season, when Abramovich could still want him at Chelsea.

Equally, if Arsene Wenger were to take a boardroom role at Arsenal or if Sir Alex Ferguson were to retire at Manchester United, those clubs would be highly desirable for him.
