Rüdiger on Liverpool’s radar

Liverpool are already making plans to rock the Premier League boat as the club have been linked with interest in key Chelsea center-back Antonio Rüdiger.

The German international has been vital under Thomas Tuchel since his compatriots arrival halfway through last season, and Rüdiger has quickly established himself at Stamford Bridge as one of the most prized possessions under Tuchel during a highly-successful early period since his arrival in replacement of Frank Lampard.

According to the Liverpool ECHO‘s Tuesday live blog which cited a report in Eurosport, the Reds are being kept abreast of the situation surrounding Rüdiger.

The report also claims that the increased expectation around the VfB Stuttgart academy graduate is that he could well refuse an extension at Stamford Bridge, and also cites that Liverpool would potentially be set to face competition from Premier League rivals Manchester United and Tottenham to secure his services if he does in fact opt to seek a move away from the club.

German center-back high on the wanted list

Should Liverpool play their hand in the Antonio Rüdiger sweepstakes, it will not just be Manchester United and Tottenham that they may have to fend off if they are to secure a deal.

The German international is said to be highly-coveted by a number of European giants both foreign and domestic, with Bayern Munich, Juventus, and Manchester City also said to be interested in adding the Berlin-native to their ranks.

ESPN also cited that La Liga giants Real Madrid were also tracking Rüdiger less than a week ago, and should he choose to forego an extension in west London, a veritable showdown for his signature would be sure to kick-off.
