Liverpool legend Tommy Smith was happy to see the club's owners act in the sacking of football director Damien Comolli.
Smith wrote in the Liverpool Echo: "I donââ¬â¢t know what Comolli did or what a Director of Football is supposed to be about. Basically heââ¬â¢s a chief scout, I guess.
"But heââ¬â¢s a guy in a suit rather than a tracksuit so I donââ¬â¢t see why it should affect the players or Kenny Dalglish. Truth is heââ¬â¢ll probably be reassured by the words Tom Werner came out with, backing him.
"But it does prove that Werner and John Henry are not just careful owners â⬓ but ruthless men in pursuit of success. And thatââ¬â¢s a good thing."
