The Mirror reports that Jurgen Klopp is keen to bring 20-year-old midfielder Thomas Lemar from Monaco.
French outlet L'Equipe claim Liverpool's negotiators have been in touch with Lemar's representatives to discuss a potential switch.
It is claimed Monaco, who last summer sold Anthony Martial to Manchester United for a huge sum, will demand another big fee for Lemar.
The Frenchman has scored five times in 23 Ligue 1 appearances this season.
