Liverpool weigh up transfer move for £33m-rated Bremen star Rashica (Bild)

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is weighing up a summer transfer swoop for Werder Bremen forward Milot Rashica, according to latest reports from Germany.

In recent months the Reds have been linked with several players currently playing their trade in Klopp's homeland, including Timo Werner, Jadon Sancho and Kai Havertz.

The latest player on Liverpool's radar is a relative unknown - although Rashica grabbed the headlines with a stunning solo goal against Bayern Munich in the semi-finals of last season's German Cup.

And the forward is being monitored by Reds boss Klopp ahead of the summer transfer window, according to German publication Bild.

Rashica is primarily as a left winger, but can also play as a centre-forward or a second striker.

At 5ft 8ins he has a low centre of gravity and his close control and dribbling skills have earned him a reputation for opening up defences.

His famous goal against Bayern saw him cut across to the right, leaving a defender on the deck, before he fired right-footed into the far corner past a helpless keeper.

The 23-year-old has scored seven Bundesliga goals this campaign on top of nine last term - but that is for a struggling Bremen team who are second bottom of the table.

Bild report that Liverpool could expect to pay around £33million for Rashica - but in the likely scenario that Bremen are relegated, the club may have to settle for a lower fee for the Kosovo international.

Rashica, who spent three years with Dutch side Vitesse Arnhem prior to his switch to Bremen, would provide back-up and competition for Sadio Mane if he joined the Reds.

Divock Origi and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain have struggled to make the desired impact when filling in for Mane on the left flank, while Adam Lallana looks set to leave the club this summer.

Lallana is out of contract at the end of the season, and is ready to leave Liverpool in order to gain regular first-team football.
