Ghana's home-based national team will play Libya in an international friendly next week to prepare for the 2014 African Nations Championship.

The Local Black Stars qualified to the third edition of the championship without kicking a ball after their opponents Benin withdrew from the qualifiers.

The Ghana Football Association wants to keep the team busy and ready for a third successive appearance in the tournament.

But the venue and date are yet to be confirmed by the two associations.

The team last played a competitive match early June when they hosted Ivory Coast in a two-legged friendly at the Baba Yara and Len Clay Stadia.

Libya also gained automatic qualification to the finals from the North Zone after Algeria withdrew.

Ghana failed to progress from the Group stage at the last tournament hosted by Sudan in 2011.
