Lozano loses a tooth after collision with Leicester's Ndidi

Published on: 11 December 2021

With half-time approaching in Napoli's Europa League match with Leicester City, Hirving Lozano was forced from the pitch after a nasty collision with Wilfred Ndidi.

Lozano was running with the ball and got his toe stuck in the turf with his head then connecting with Ndidi's knee, knocking a tooth out of the Mexican's mouth. That, incidentally, is eerily similar to the injury he suffered in the Gold Cup with Mexico.

The referee quickly got a stretcher onto the pitch and Lozano was fitted with a neck brace before being taken from the field.

At half time in the Europa League tie, Napoli and Leicester are level at 2-2, as the Premier League side came back from two goals down. If the result stays as is, Napoli will exit the Europa League.
