Ludogorets forward Bernard Tekpetey was left pleased with his team's Europa League victory over AS Roma on Thursday.

The Bulgarian champions stunned Jose Mourinho’s side on the opening matchday of the Europa League, with the Ghanaian playing well.

“This is the doing of the Lord, great team spirit and great atmosphere, Thanks for the support,” Tekpetey wrote on Twitter.

The 24-year-old started and lasted the entire duration as the Green Eagles won 2-1 to put pressure on Jose Mourinho and his AS Roma team.

After a goalless first half, the hosts broke the deadlock in the 72nd minute through Cauly Oliveira Souza.

But AS Roma pulled level with six minutes remaining after Eldor Shomurodov pounced on a Lorenzo Pelligrini assist.

However, Ludogorets left it late to score the winner through Nonato as they began their Europa League with an important win.

Tekpetey, who was snubbed by the Black Stars technical team for the international friendlies against Brazil and Nicaragua continued his decent run of form with another strong display.

With five league goals already this season, he appears to be on track to surpass last season's total and possibly reach 20 for the first time in his career.
