Real Madrid have joined forces with rivals Atletico Madrid through a campaign called MadridxMadrid.
The initiative aims at involving all Madrid citizens in assisting their neighbours to overcome the current crisis caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
"Madrid has once again given an example of unity, sacrifice and improvement," noted Real Madrid president Florentino Perez.
"Together we are facing one of the most difficult situations in our recent history and together we are going to get ahead.
"This is a caring, welcoming and universal city.
"Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid together promote MadridxMadrid, a citizen initiative that unites us all in favour of families who await our help.
"We want our city to be the capital of solidarity.
"Many people need us, [especially] the weakest and most vulnerable in our society.
"We want to ask you all to put your heart to the ground.
"Let us be in solidarity."
For his part, Atletico president Enrique Cerezo asked everyone to participate in the campaign.
"The Atletico Madrid Foundation want to ask you to put your heart into and invite you to become part of the MadridxMadrid movement," he explained.
"We from Madrid join in this initiative to help many of those who are having a hard time."
Players from both teams - Sergio Ramos, Koke, Luka Modric and Saul Niguez - also appear in the videos released by the two clubs.
