Ghana President John Mahama has called on the Black Stars to channel the same energy and commitment they show at their clubs into the national team as they prepare for a crucial World Cup qualifier against Chad.
Mahama visited the team’s closed-door training session on Wednesday and addressed the players, reminding them of their responsibility to the nation.
“It takes sacrifice, it takes strength. We all enjoy watching you play for your clubs, and we expect you to bring that same dedication to the national team,” he said.
His visit comes at a critical time for Ghana, as the Black Stars look to bounce back from a difficult period, including their failure to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
Mahama assured the squad of the nation’s support and urged them to approach the upcoming games with discipline, hard work, and unity.
The team welcomed the President’s encouragement, with players and officials expressing their appreciation for his presence and backing.
Ghana will face Chad at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday, before travelling to Morocco for a showdown with Madagascar on March 24.
