President John Dramani Mahama has congratulated the Black Stars on their impressive 5-0 win over Chad in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, but also warned them against complacency ahead of their next match against Madagascar.
In a post, Mahama expressed his delight at the team's performance, saying, "I had a good appetite for dinner after the Black Stars' 5-0 victory. Congrats guys!"
However, he also cautioned the team, stating, "Let this victory not make us complacent. This should be the beginning of bringing back the LOVE."
The Black Stars' dominant performance against Chad saw goals from Antoine Semenyo, Inaki Williams, Jordan Ayew, Mohammed Salisu, and Ernest Nuamah.
The win propelled Ghana to the top of Group I, setting the stage for a pivotal showdown with Madagascar on Monday.
With the team's focus now shifting to the Madagascar clash, Mahama's warning serves as a reminder to stay focused and avoid becoming too confident after their resounding victory.
The Black Stars will face Madagascar in Morocco, aiming to take a big step towards qualification for the 2026 World Cup.
