The 25-year old pounced on a loose ball in the opponent's box in the 25th minute to fire home to cancel out Ryan Babel's 21st minute opener for the Turkish giants.
But the Black and Whites regained their lead in the 61st minute through Turkish international Tolgay Arselan, which proved to be the winner.
The former Hearts of Oak captain played the entire duration.
