Majeed Ashimeru idolizes Barcelona legend Iniesta

Red Bull Salzburg midfielder Majeed Ashimeru has revealed that former Barcelona player Andres Iniesta is his idol. 

The Ghanaian midfielder disclosed that he looks up to the former Spain international and watches most of his games before going to the field to play a match.

Iniesta is revered in world football following his exploits with Barcelona and with the Spanish national team team, The petite offensive midfielder, who now plies his trade in Japan with Vissel Kobe scored the winner as Spain became World Champions in 2010.

Majeed Ashimeru believes learning from Iniesta has shaped his career for the best.

“My favorite idol is Iniesta, he is someone I always watch before a game. I think I’m trying to see improvement. I try to learn a lot from him. I’m confident I will get there,” he told footballmadeinghana.com.

The former WAFA midfielder recently signed a long term deal with the Austrian club that will keep him at Red Bull until 2024.
