Striker Abdul Majeed Waris insists he will deliver goals against Togo to silence critics over his goal drought for the Black Stars.Â
The 22-year-old, who recently signed for Turkish Super Lig side Trabzonspor from Russian side Spartak Moscow, has not scored for Ghana since scoring against Egypt in the World Cup qualifiers in October 2013 despite flourishing at club side.
Saturday came as another deadlock for the young striker who fired blank against Uganda despite starting the game and enjoying more playing time.
After claiming he has become an improved player, the striker insists he is keen to ending his goal drought.
“Football is football, but it takes time to adapt to every situation so if I have not scored as many times for my national team as I do for my club, I don’t think that should mean I don’t have what it takes to deliver for the national team,†Waris said in an interview.
He won the penalty that earned Ghana a draw against on Saturday.
