AC Milan legend Paolo Maldini feels that Juventus are still the favourites to emerge triumphant in this season’s race for the Scudetto.
The five-time Champions League winner claims that the Turin giants are by far the best team in Italy despite Fiorentina and Napoli playing some of their best football in recent seasons.
“I honestly expected Juventus to come back in the running for the league title,” the 47-year old said, as reported by Tuttomercatoweb.
“They are by far the strongest team in Serie A, although there are other strong teams,”
“Napoli and Fiorentina are playing well but they are not on the same level as Juve.”
Maldini also mentioned Juve’s rising star Paulo Dybala, who he has no doubt in the future, will be one of the best in the world.
“He [Dybala] will have a bright future, playing with the Bianconeri will make him among the best in the world.”
