Ghana midfielder Emmanuel Lomotey is extremely happy to have joined Swedish champions Malmo FF.

Lomotey has signed a four-and-half-year contract, parting ways with French second-tier side Amiens.

The 24-year-old defensive midfielder was recently declared unavailable by Amiens for the start of their season. Unknowingly he was in advanced discussions with Malmo for a transfer.

Lomotey had a regular place at Amiens and was responsible for 55 games in Ligue 2 over two seasons.

Lomotey, who can play both midfield and defence, has signed a 4.5-year contract with Malmo FF for an undisclosed fee.

“I feel a great pride. Malmö FF is the biggest club in Sweden so I am happy to be here and looking forward to start training with the team,” Lomotey said.

“I think I have qualities and attributes that will help the team. The goal is to help Malmö FF win titles and play group games in Europe. Together with my teammates, we will achieve as much as we can together.”

Lomotey has made six appearances for Black Stars, two coming in the World Cup qualification campaign. He will be hoping to be part of the squad in Qatar.
