Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart and Real Madrid star Gareth Bale were the only British players featured on UEFA's Team of the Year shortlist.
Barcelona features eight players on the 40-man list, while Bayern Munich is the next best-represented club with six.
The Premier League features five players on the list, with Sergio Aguero, Kevin De Bruyne, Eden Hazard and Alexis Sanchez joining Hart.
The shortlist, comprising of four goalkeepers, 12 defenders, 12 midfielders and 12 strikers, has been selected by UEFA based on performances throughout 2015 and fans from across Europe can vote for the Team of the Year on the UEFA.com website.
