Man City star De Bruyne still values Ronaldo after he is spotted with his shirt

Cristiano Ronaldo may not be valued by his manager at Manchester United these days, but he's still a big enough star that Kevin De Bruyne sought him out to ask for his No 7 shirt after Sunday's Manchester derby.

Erik ten Hag said he left Ronaldo on the bench at the Etihad 'out of respect for Cristiano and his big career', but former United skipper Roy Keane accused his old club of showing the 37-year-old a lack of respect.

After helping Manchester City to dismantle their neighbours 6-3, a beaming De Bruyne was seen leaving with a United shirt and revealed that it belonged to Ronaldo.

On Ronaldo, Keane admitted that he thinks the Portuguese star should have been let go by the club before the close of the transfer window.

Keane told Sky Sports: 'I think Man United are showing disrespect to Ronaldo. I think he should have been let go before the [closing] of the window.

'Okay, you're the manager, you need options but you don't hold onto Ronaldo to sit on the bench. He's one of the greatest players ever.

'He's played him in one or two European games. It's just going to get uglier as the season goes on.

'If he's sitting on the bench for United, week in, week out it's just going to get uglier. I think United have shown nothing but disrespect to Ronaldo.'

Ronaldo has not started a game for Manchester United since the 4-0 defeat at Brentford and has only been making appearances off the bench.
