Man United and Ajax target Kamaldeen Sulemana rejects Ghana call-up for Morocco, Ivory Coast friendlies

Nordsjælland forward Kamaldeen Sulemana has rejected Ghana's call-up for an international friendly against Morocco and Ivory Coast, the FA has confirmed.

The 19-year-old ahs turned down the request from the national team with the Ghana FA saying the reasons offered by the youngster "clearly confirms he is not ready" for the match.

However, GHANAsoccernet.com understands that representatives of the youngster are keen to finalize his next transfer amid interest from English giants Manchester and Dutch powerhouse Ajax.

Sulemana has declined the invitation to enable him sort out his imminent transfer from the Danish Super League.

Complications with Covid-19 restrictions are some of the reasons given for his inability to join the Ghana camp.

The Ghana FA has confirmed Sulemana and two others - Joseph Paintsil and Kamal Sowah have turned down the request to join the squad for the two friendlies.

"The trio (Kamaldeen Sulemana, Joseph Paintsil and Kamal Sowah) gave varied reasons that clearly confirm that they are not ready for the games. They therefore turned down the invitation." an FA statement said on Monday.

Meanwhile, 25 players made the trip to Morocco including captain, Andre Ayew.
