Man Utd kids keeping LVG afloat – Ferdinand

Published on: 29 February 2016

Rio Ferdinand has stated that Manchester United youngsters are keeping Louis van Gaal in the job.

United claimed an unexpected 3-2 victory over title contenders Arsenal on Sunday and the triumph was made all the more surprising by the fact that the Red Devils had put out a very youthful looking lineup during the clash, including teenage striker Marcus Rashford who scored two goals and provided an assist.

Following the game, former United defender Ferdinand has stated his belief that there is a great irony in van Gaal spending over £250million in the transfer market on new players but ultimately having his job saved by academy graduates.

He posted on Twitter:

LVG spent 250m....and the kids are keeping him afloat...different.
