Manchester United to table eye watering bid for AC Milan goalkeeper

Manchester United are preparing to break the bank to bring AC Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma to the club.

Shot-stopper Donnarumma, also a target of La Liga’s Barcelona, has enjoyed a meteoric rise since emerging as a youth academy prospect at the Rossoneri, ousting former Real Madrid goalkeeper Diego Lopez in the process.

The 16-year-old’s progress definitely hasn’t gone unnoticed and English giants Manchester United want to tempt AC Milan with a huge transfer offer this January, according to Mediaset Premium.

Louis van Gaal’s side may look to open negotiations with a firm €40 million offer.

Donnarumma has quickly become a fan favourite at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, with Milan fans hoping to see their starlet potentially become the next Gianluigi Buffon – with the Juventus man entering the twilight of his career.

So far, the Italian has got off to an impressive start as he’s conceded only nine goals in 11 Serie A outings.
