Manchester United vs PSG: how and where to watch - times, TV, online

Published on: 01 December 2020

All the information you need to know on how and where to watch Manchester United host PSG at Old Trafford (Manchester) on 2 December at 21:00 CET.

Manchester United and PSG will be facing off in a “win or die” situation for the French side. The Parisians need a victory at Old Trafford if they want to have a chance to get a ticket for the knockout round, as Leipzig will be playing against Basaksehir and the odds clearly favour the German powerhouses to be victorious in Istanbul.

Group H is one of the most interesting and open ones, as all four contenders mathematically stand a chance of being in the round of 16. The Red Devils, who will go through by avoiding defeat in one of their final two games, top the group with nine points, followed by PSG and Leipzig both with six, while Basaksehir is fourth with three points.

United solid at home in Champions League

Ole Gunnar Solksjaer is going into the match being aware of their opponent’s potential but there is good news for the hosts: United have scored nine goals in their two Champions League home games thus far, compared to only three in five home Premier League matches.

Meanwhile, Thomas Tuchel will be considerably more worried, as his team, seen as the clear favourite to top the group at the beginning of the season, could be out of the competition if their key players don’t show up when most needed. And they require the best version of Neymar and Mbappé urgently, with PSG having only won one of their last four away Champions League matches.

Moreover, they are not performing as they used to in Ligue 1. Tuchel’s team squandered another lead on Saturday to draw 2-2 against Bordeaux. A week earlier, Tuchel’s men had thrown away a two-goal lead to lose 3-2 to Monaco in the French league.

Cavani against his former team?

Edinson Cavani could be playing against his former team, given that he is facing a possible domestic ban after using a racially-insensitive word in an Instagram post and could miss next Premier League’s game. Anthony Martial’s fitness is good enough to play again, after missing the Southampton game through illness.

David de Gea is expected to be back into action after suffering a knock which forced him off at half time against Southampton, while there are some doubts on the fitness of Jesse Lingard, Scott McTominay and Eric Bailly. Alex Telles is expected to be ready for the game, while Luke Shaw will remain unavailable with a hamstring injury.

Pogba, Van de Beek and number 50

Paul Pogba seems to be ready and he is expected to make his 50th Champions League appearance, while Donny van de Beek could also play against PSG. It would be his 50th match in UEFA club competition.

As for the Parisian outfit, Tuchel won’t have Julian Draxler and Thilo Kehrer, while Marquinhos could also miss out the game due to an adductor injury.

Mauro Icardi could be an alternative for Tuchel, after returning off the bench, while Idrissa Gueye is fit again. Ángel Di Maria and Ander Herrera could be playing from the start, together with Mbappé and Neymar.
