Mancini: It is difficult to get out of a bad run

Inter coach Roberto Mancini has admitted that his side are going through a tough period in Serie A, as they prepare for the fixture against Sampdoria on Saturday.

Inter have failed to win their last two matches in Serie A, racking up a 3-3 draw against Chievo and a 2-1 loss against Fiorentina; nonetheless, Mancini insisted that the club is still in the running for a top three position in the Serie A standings.

“Football is sometimes like this,” he said during his press conference. “When you’re experiencing a bad run of games, it is difficult to get out of it.”

“There is nothing wrong in particular, it is not a matter of tactics or athletic condition.”

“I liked our last performances, and the results are just not coming our way at the moment, but we could win five or six games in a row and still be in contention for third place”.

Inter’s coach also claimed not to be bothered by former Nerazzurri manager, Jose Mourinho, who decided to attend to the match following the invitation of former club president Massimo Moratti.

“Anybody could come and watch the match, Moratti is free to invite whoever he wants.”
