Liverpool forward Sadio Mane has set his sights on winning the Premier League title with the Reds next year regardless of what happens with the 2019/20 season.

All top-flight clubs are said to be committed to completing the current campaign, but the 27-year-old has explained if Jurgen Klopp's side aren't able to life the title due to the coronavirus pandemic then "we will win it next year".

The Senegal forward has said it would be a dream come true to be crowned a champion of England, though his thoughts are with the millions around the world affected by the COVID-19 outbreak.

Speaking with TalkSport, Mane was asked whether he feels like a champion already with Liverpool having amassed a 25 point lead over Manchester City ahead of the suspension of football.

He said: "I think not yet. I love my job and I love football, I want to win on the pitch.

"I want to win the games and I want to get the trophy, it's what I would love. But with this situation, whatever happens I will understand.

"It has been difficult for Liverpool, but it has been more difficult for many millions of people around the world.

"Some people have lost family members and that is the more complicated situation.

"But for myself, it's my dream and I want to win it this year. If that's not the case, I will accept, it's part of life.

"Hopefully we will win it next year."
