Maradona wants to stop Asamoah Gyan

Legend Diego Maradona has devised a strategy to stop Al Ain's free-scoring striker Asamoah Gyan from scoring in the UAE top-flight on Saturday.

Maradona, who is the coach of Al Wasl, will face a tough test when the two sides clash in Etisalat Pro League.

But the Argentine knows that to achieve his aim he must stop the league's leading scorer from scoring as he damaged their chances in the first round clash last year.

Sixth in the Etisalat Pro League and 18 points behind league leaders Al Ain with five games left to play, Maradona, wants to douse the danger posed by Gyan and Yassir Qah'tani.

Maradona said: "We will have to try to limit the danger of Yassir Qah'tani and Asamoah Gyan in the box. We know how they play.

"Yassir likes to take advantage of the space Gyan creates. But we have to find ways of stopping that.

"We will put pressure on them from inside their own field and be extra alert as a precaution of those two dangerous players."

Gyan is gunning for the top scorer and top player award in the UAE top-flight with just five matches remaining in the league.
