Maran: Juventus were excellent

Chievo coach Rolando Maran has belatedly praised the performance of Juventus, after they swiped away the Mussi Volanti to win 4-0 on Sunday afternoon.

The scoreline flattered the Gialloblu, as they provided little opposition to the Bianconeri who, led by Paul Pogba, were in a rampant mood.

“Juventus have a considerable attack,” said Maran to Sky Sport Italia.

“The whole game we were simply trying to stop them scoring.

“In the second half we did not have the strength to fight back, but that’s because we had a lot of players coming back from injury today. However, credit has to go to Juventus as they were excellent today. ”

Maran was also asked whether Chievo fans could expect some new signings on transfer deadline day:

“We will see. The main thing is that we have players who we can rely on to fight for the shirt.”

“The market in January is always complicated and for a club like Chievo it is difficult to manage sometimes.”

Finally the Italian said he wished his side had been able to keep the score at 0-0 for longer than six minutes.

“Obviously going behind against Juventus is not easy because you have to push forward more which gives them space which can make them devastating,” Maran added.
