MARCELLO CARLI IS PARMA CALCIO’S NEW SPORTING DIRECTOR

Published on: 18 August 2020

Parma Calcio are delighted to announce that Marcello Carli is the Club’s new Sporting Director. Carli has signed a contract lasting until 30 June 2022.

Born in Colle Val d’Elsa (in the province of Siena) on 25 March 1964, his career as a director began at Empoli, where, during a six-year spell, he fulfilled the roles of Youth Academy Director, Sporting Director and Technical Area Manager. He was then the Cagliari’s Sporting Director from April 2018 through to the end of the season just gone.

“Along with his enthusiasm, his skills and qualities were what we were looking for: in this respect, we were impressed right from the start,” said Parma President Pietro Pizzarotti. “We are certain that he is the right person to have on board as we continue our journey in a united fashion, something which has always distinguished our Club. I’m therefore delighted to welcome Marcello to the Club on behalf of everyone involved with Parma Calcio.”

“I’m starting this new adventure with great enthusiasm and the desire to become part of a Club which certainly needs no introductions,” said Marcello Carli. “It’s a great opportunity for me and I can’t wait to get going.”

The Crociati’s new Sporting Director will be presented to the press in the coming days. The date and time of the conference will be announced through the Club’s website.
