Mario Balotelli set to join newly promoted Serie A side US Salernitana

Serie A newbies US Salernitana are set to sign Mario Balotelli ahead of the new season as the striker is close to parting ways with AC Monza.

Balotelli joined Monza in December 2020 for a brief spell with his current contract expiring on 30 June 2021.

The Italy-born Ghanaian will not extend his contract with Monza when the contract runs out as his agent Mino Raiola is working on a move for him for join Salernitana.

Balotelli is expected to sign for the newly promoted Serie A side in the coming weeks if negotiations are fruitful.

Raiola and the granata ds Fabiani have an excellent relationship and could evaluate the passage of 'Super Mario' in Campania.

One of Raiola's clients Cedric Gondo is already in Salerno and could therefore be joined by the current Monza forward, with the complicity of Raiola.

Balotelli scored 5 goals and provided one assist in 12 appearances in the Serie B in the just ended campaign.
