Manchester United and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer carefully looked to introduce Mason Greenwood into the first-team setup at Old Trafford, allowing him to develop his significant natural talent, yet the player was forced into a difficult position when he rejected a huge offer from Juventus.
Back in 2019, Greenwood committed his future to the Premier League club, although there was sizeable interest in him from abroad.
In an episode of The Athletic's Talk of the Devils podcast, it was revealed that Juventus were ready to make a serious offer for the English international.
United, though, were able to convince him to stay and a four-year contract was signed which would keep the player at the club.
Greenwood rumoured to be unhappy
Alas, the situation at United is different now to what it was when Greenwood put pen to paper, with Cristiano Ronaldo's return having altered the teenager's playing time.
Ralf Rangnick's arrival has done little to promote Greenwood back into the starting XI and some are now claiming that the player may look into the possibility of leaving the club in search of a starting spot.
