Match Report: Dwarfs 0-1 Dreams - Debutantes cruise with vital away triumph
Dreams FC beat Dwarfs

Debutantes Dreams FC opened their season with an impressive 1-0 away victory over Ebusua Dwarfs at the Robert Mensah Stadium on Sunday.

Goalkeeper Mozart Adjetey stood tall for Dreams as he denied Dwarfs on several occasions after the Dawu-based had taken the lead.

Johnson Oppong silenced the noisy home fans by scoring the opening goal in the nick of half-time. The midfielder arrived on time to connect home his effort in the 41st minute.

Dwarfs made several attempts to pull parity but goalkeeper Mozart Adjetey stopped them on all their attempts.

But the Mysterious Club should have equalised in the 68th minute when Lukman came one-on-one with Adjetey but he fluffed his lines to the displeasure of the home fans.

C K Akunnor was forced to make an early change when Eric Gawu's continuous misses from goal got to him. The former Hearts and King Faisal man had all the scoring chances but missed until he was replaced in Lawson Bekui in the opening minutes of the second-half.

Dwarfs did all their might but the effort of Adjetey was a stumbling block.

The clash between the newly-promoted due jetted off to a thrilling starts for fans at the Robert Mensah Stadium who had not seen the Mysterious Club in action in the top-flight since their demotion two seasons ago.

J E Sarpong's men went into the tie counting on the prolific goal-poacher Bright Lukman who bagged 30 goals in their promotion campaign last season but he failed to get on the score-sheet.

Experienced duo of Stephen Aidoo and Nicolas Gyan alongside Romeo Agban were named in the Dwarfs line-up.
