Inter Allies put ten-man Heart of Lions in the relegation mire following a 2-1 home win at the Tema Sports Stadium on Saturday.

‘Eleven Is To One’ took a first half 2-0 lead through Baba Mensah, from the spot-kick, and Frederick Yamoah.

Midfielder Issah Yakubu was whacked down inside the box by Michael Annan and referee Desmond Abbey.

Centre-back Mensah picked the ball and firmly planted it bottom corner in the 27th minute.

Just before the half-time whistle, Yamoah- operating on the left winger- rushed on Prosper Avor inside the box and collected the ball before slotting home.

After the break, Lions looked quiet sharper but could not break down the Allies defence marshaled by Joseph Aidoo, Baba Mensah, Abass Mohammed and Simon Martey who was later substituted.

But when the Kpando-based side were on top on their game, stand-in captain Benjamin Agyare was sent off for two yellow cards.

His second was a silly tackle on Eliasu Fuseini on 70 minutes.

But when he thought the match was heading for a 2-0 scoreline, Lions pulled one back in stoppage time with a beautiful volley from Isaac Quansah.

Inter Allies moved to second place temporarily while Lions remained 13th on the table.
