Ghana U20 squad candidate Latif Blessing hit a double to power Liberty Professionals to a 5-1 drubbing of AshantiGold in the Ghana Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

The 19-year-old grabbed his first goal in the 5th minute before hitting his second of the afternoon with a sensational finish midway through the second-half.

Benjamin Eshun saw his opening goal disallowed by referee S B Bortey but the youngster was not deterred as he went ahead to assist Ebo Mends to score the opener in the 6th minute.

AshantiGold were found wanting as the Miners failed to keep their defence together and Blessing employed his pace and artful ability to grab the second goal for the Scientific Soccer Lads. He darted well into the box before sending home a curling effort past Dabuo in the Miners goal.

Robert Dabuo was called to duty and he had to be at his best to deny Tamimu Muntari the third goal.

Anthony Yankul halved the deficit for the Miners four minutes into the second-half.

But Latif Blessing restored Liberty's two-goal margin when he applied a simple tap-in to a corner after Mohammed Kadri failed to clear his lines.

Liberty were just not finished on the afternoon. Nimble-footed right-back Simon Zibo picked a loose ball from the right and outwitted Godfred Rockson before he shooting gleefully past Dabuo to nailed the Miners coffin.

But just when AshantiGold thought the suffering was over Bernard Arthur hit the 5th goal of the afternoon to seal an emphatic win for Liberty.
