Match Report: Medeama 1-0 Inter Allies; Bernard Ofori's dramatic late winner steals show for Mauves

Published on: 27 April 2016

Striker Bernard Ofori scored a dramatic late winner for Medeama in their 1-0 win over Inter Allies to hop out of the relegation trap net on Wednesday.

The former New Edubiase striker emerged the hero after he pounced on Osei Kwame's howler to give the home side the winner in injury-time.

The Tarkwa-based side had to sweat profusely for the win after Inter Allies put a solid defensive display at the Tarkw and Aboso Park.

Midfielder Malik Akowuah missed from the spot to give the visitors a massive relieve.

But the immense pressure from the two-time Ghana FA Cup champions finally paid off after goalkeeper Osei Kwame gifted Bernard Ofori- who wasted no time in planting the ball into the net to send the fans into frenzy.

Goalkeeper Osei Kwame stood between Medeama and avalanche of goals after pulling several world class saves.

Medeama will feel extremely relieved as they move out of the relegation zone ahead of their next game at home to Wa All Stars on Sunday.

The Mauve and Yellows have struggled for form on the domestic front despite excelling heavily in the CAF Confederation Cup.

Their heavy 3-0 defeat at Aduana Stars last Sunday consigned them to rock-bottom.

But the ambitious Ghanaian side pulled off another remarkable feat in front of their home fans - a hard-fought win.

Medeama have jumped to 11th on the table with 10 points from nine games.
