WAFA held on to their commanding home form after pipping Liberty Professionals 1-0 at the WAFA Stadium in Sogakope in the Ghana Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

Captain Martin Antwi fired WAFA into the lead with a clinical finish at the 57th minute after he had led his side to boss the game.

Liberty were hoping to continue their winning run in the campaign after pipping Techiman City at Dansoman last weekend.

But the trip to the Volta Region proved a major headache for the Scientific Soccer Lads. They were beaten to their artful game but the exciting WAFA side expressed control and dominated the tie.

Black Stars winger Samuel Tetteh, Charles Boateng and Majid Ashmeru were the main orchestrators as WAFA built on their fortress production at WAFA Stadium in Sogakope.

Latif Blessing and Ebo Mends tried to bring Liberty into the game but WAFA defended steadily.
