2019/20 Ghana Premier League: Week 11 Match Preview - Great Olympics vs. Berekum Chelsea

Published on: 19 February 2020

Great Olympics will be entertaining Berekum Chelsea at the Accra sports stadium on Thursday in a Week 11 fixture in the premiership.

The Wonder club come into this match off a two-game winless run.

Olympics lost 2-1 at home to Eleven Wonders FC and drew 1-1 against rivals Legon Cities FC last weekend in a tough city derby.

The capital based club are only one point above the drop zone having amassed just 11 points from 10 games so far in the season.

They need a win against Berekum Chelsea on Thursday to cushion them on the league standings.

Assistant coach Seth Hoffmann will lead the Dade Boys again since a new head coach has not been appointed.

Midfielder Sulley Ibrahim has won three man of the match awards. He is expected to put another outstanding performance to help Olympics clinch victory.

Berekum Chelsea seem to have taken their feet off the pedal as things haven't been the same as they began the season where they won four and drew one out of five games.

The Blues have seen their form dropped by recording only one win in the last five matches in the premiership having lost all of the last two.

Chelsea suffered their first home defeat of the campaign with a 3-1 humbling in the hands of Inter Allies FC in Berekum last Saturday.

Another lose to Great Olympics on Thursday could see the Bibires drop further on the league standings.

They are currently sitting at the 5th position with just one point adrift of top spot.

Goalkeeper Danlad Ibrahim is expected back in the posts after his replacement Kwadwo Osei Bonsu last weekend failed to live up to expectation.

Prediction: Great Olympics 1-1 Berekum Chelsea
