Ebusua Dwarfs talented midfielder George Asamoah was adjudged man of the match in the central region derby against Elmina Sharks.

The 23-year-old deservedly picked up the individual prize after an impressive performance which helped Dwarfs earn a point on matchday 1 of 2020/21 Ghana Premier League season.

The game ended 2-2 at the Cape Coast stadium but it would have been a different outcome had Dwarfs not got a last-minute goal from an unlikely source.

Goalkeeper Razak Issah netted from a free-kick to ensure Dwarfs avoided defeat on the opening day of the season.

Ishmael Hammond’s strike cancelled out Dennis Nkrumah Korsah’s penalty for Dwarfs before Richard Mpong gave Sharks the lead.

But with the game set to end in a draw, Dwarfs won a free-kick at the edge of the box and Issah made no mistake, becoming the first goalkeeper to score a league goal since Philemon McCarthy in 2016/17 season.
