2020/21 Ghana Premier League: Week 13 Match Preview — Hearts of Oak v Legon Cities FC
Hearts of Oak

Hearts of Oak will be hoping to quickly fix their recent broken outings with a win when they take on Legon Cities FC in Week 13 of the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League.

Hearts of Oak have been given a reality check in their last three games, drawing only and losing two.

Coach Kosta Papic felt the pressure from the fans following their midweek 1-0 loss at Medeama SC.

The Serbian appears to have lost the magic wand he showed the club’s faithful early on in his reign as head coach.

Ahead of the match against Legon Cities FC, the onus lies on the Phobians to resuscitate their ailing campaign, starting with a victory on Sunday.

Legon Cities FC meanwhile will go into the match brimming with confidence after racking up an impressive 9 points from a possible 15 in their last five matches.

The Royals have been moving the right direction since the arrival of Bashir Hayford in the dugout.

Matches between these two sides have been intriguing in the past hence this Sunday’s one expected to follow the same trend.

There have been twenty matches between the two teams since their maiden clash in 2008.

Surprisingly, it is Legon Cities FC who have the upper hand on the league giants, a total of 10 matches.

Hearts of Oak has recorded just six victories, with four ending in a draw.

There has not been any new report of injuries in their respective camps ahead of this particular match and therefore they are expected to parade a full-strength team on the day.

Legon Cities FC will miss the services of record signing Asamoah Gyan. The former Ghana captain has not featured for the side in the last seven matches.

His last involvement in a game for the club was a cameo in the 1-0 defeat against Asante Kotoko on November 12, 2020.

The veteran poacher has consequently missed seven consecutive matches and there is no sign of him showing up for the clash against Hearts of Oak at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday.

Hearts of Oak on the hand, have not reported any fresh injury in the build up to the must-win encounter.

The Rainbow Club are in 11th position with 16 points while Legon Cities FC sit 14th with 12 points.
