2020/21 Ghana Premier League: Week 15 Match Preview - AshantiGold vs. Aduana Stars

Published on: 18 February 2021

AshantiGold SC will be seeking an end to their recent struggles in the Ghana Premier League on Friday when they tackle Aduana Stars at the Len Clay Stadium in match day 14 fixture.

The Miners have gone six straight matches without a victory as they have managed only three points from eighteen.

The last premiership win came on 10 January 2021 against Great Olympics in Accra as they have dropped to the 10th position on the log since then.

The recent home form has been abysmal too with the Gold and Black club failing to record a victory in the last three games in Obuasi having drawn against Medeama SC and Asante Kotoko.

The last home game saw the Miners suffer a 1-0 defeat.

Serbian trainer Milovan Cirkovic remains on the sidelines as he is on a sick leave. Thomas Duah to guide the team once more on Friday.

Duah has been in charge of the side in the last three fixtures where he has picked just a point.

Appiah McCarthy also remains unavailable as he continues to nurse an injury he suffered on 22 January 2021 against Legon Cities FC.

Aduana are travelling to Obuasi to face AshantiGold on the back of their 4-2 defeat to Dreams FC last weekend and will be hoping for a rebound.

The Fire Boys were on a good run before their loss last Sunday to Dreams.

They have one defeat in their last six matches in the premiership with three victories against Legon Cities, Asante Kotoko and WAFA SC.

Matches against Ebusua Dwarfs and Liberty Professionals ended in draws in the process.

Aduana are currently lying 6th position on the premiership standings with 21 points with just four points adrift of the top spot.

Their last win at away to AshantiGold was in 2012. Since then they have managed just one point from their last five journeys to Obuasi.

Central defender Farouk Adams is suspended for Friday's game after he was sent off last weekend against Dreams.

Noah Martey remains sidelined with an injury.
