Great Olympics ended Liberty Professionals’ three-game winning streak following a 2-0 victory in Week 22 of the ongoing Ghana Premier League on Sunday.

Great Olympics went into the match with the aim of returning to winning ways after their 4-1 walloping at the hands of Ebusua Dwarfs last week.

The Dade Boys started the match in great fashion — controlling much of the possession but failed to create a decent opportunity.

The Accra Sports Stadium erupted in the 36th minute when striker Maxwell Abbey Quaye fired in a superb goal to hand the hosts a 1-0 lead.

Great Olympics did not let their guard down despite a late onslaught from the Scientific Soccer lads.

Liberty Professionals coach Andy Sinason made couple of changes in the second half.

He replaced Prosper Ahiabu with Godfred Atuahene and Simon Appiah for Stanley Appaw.

The substitutions appeared to have given the visitors a little push in the final third but the resolute defense of Great Olympics dealt diligently with everything thrown at them.

Olympics looked to be closing in on a slim win until the 85th minute when Joshua Rhule poked home from close range to make it 2-0.

Annor Walker’s men deservedly finished the match as victors to move 3rd on the league table.

Liberty Professionals remain 15th with 24 points from 22 matches.
