2020/21 Ghana Premier League: Week 23 Match Preview - Liberty Professionals v Medeama

Published on: 07 May 2021

Liberty Professionals will aim to end Medeama four-match unbeaten streak when the two teams clash at the Red Bull Arena in a crunch Ghana Premier League fixture in Sogakope on Sunday.

The scientific soccer lads are just above the relegation zone after they come down crushing at Great Olympics last week.

The Accra-based side lost 2-0 to Wonder Club to end their three-game unbeaten streak.

They are back at their adopted venue in Sogakope where they host the league leaders - seeking to end their four-match 100% record in the Ghanaian top-flight.

Liberty coach Andy Sinason has been talking tough ahead of the must-win game and has massive support from celebrated coach Sellas Tetteh.

The struggling side are in need of oxygen and must bring their A-game to bear to dispatch the high-flying Mauve and Yellows.

Medeama are enjoying their best campaign this term after a tetchy start - winning their last four matches to assume top position on the table.

The two-time FA Cup winners dispatched Ebusua Dwarfs 3-0 at the Akoon park last weekend to reclaim the top spot which was temporarily occupied by giants Asante Kotoko.

With Kotoko battling Dreams FC on Saturday, a win for the Porcupine Warriors will heap pressure on the Tarkwa-based side.

Coach Yaw Preko will be without injured striker Amed Toure and suspended Richard Boadu for the cliff hanger.

Although Medeama are blessed with options in the middle of the park, Boadu's  absence will be felt, as he has been nothing short of outstanding since his partnership with crocked Justice Blay blossomed.

However, the one-time Super Cup champions are not bereft of talents with the likes of Benjamin Arthur and Abass Mohammed expected to replace the duo.

It's promises to be an exciting encounter with the two teams expected to sell out an entertaining match with an eye firmly gazed on the maximum points.
