2020/21 Ghana Premier League: Week 24 Match Report - Berekum Chelsea 3-1 AshantiGold

Berekum Chelsea returned to winning ways after a three-match winless streak on Wednesday with a resounding victory in the Ghana Premier League.

The Bibires beat AshantiGold 3-1 at the Golden City Park to cushion their efforts towards the relegation dogfight.

Chelsea trainer Seth Hoffman made no changes to the squad that lost narrowly to Aduana Stars in the regional derby last weekend in Dormaa Ahenkro.

Kofi Owusu, Bright Amponsah, Emmanuel Essiam and Jorge Renchi all retained their respective positions in the starting lineup.

AshantiGold assistant coach and stop gap coach Thomas Duah altered that team that drew 1-1 with Eleven Wonders FC last Sunday in Obuasi with just one change.

Mark Agyekum in a long while returned to the starting lineup as Dacosta Boadu paved way for him.

Abdul Basit led by example as captain to put Chelsea ahead in the 35th minute of the encounter.

Paul Attah Agyei doubled the advantage for the Bibires in the 56th minute.

Winger Yaw Annor pulled one back eight minutes later but that didn't last for long as Stephen Amankona scored from the spot to seal the victory for the home side.
