2020/21 Ghana Premier League: AshantiGold defender Empem Dacosta picks MVP award in win over Great Olympics

Published on: 16 May 2021

AshantiGold SC defender Empem Dacosta put in an outstanding shift on Sunday to win man of the match when his side pipped Great Olympics.

The Miners clinched a 1-0 victory at the Len Clay Stadium to return to winning ways in the Ghana Premier League.

Known to be a central defender, Dacosta was deployed at the left back position and was very effective helping AshantiGold to keep a clean sheet in the end.

Midfielder Stephen Owusu Banahene converted a penalty in the 55th minute to give AshantiGold the all important win.

The Gold and Black outfit move up on the league standings from 10th to 9th place with Sunday's win.

Dacosta was the reason why Samuel Abbey-Ashie Quaye was ineffective in the match entirely.
