2020/21 Ghana Premier League: Week 33 Match Report - King Faisal Babes 2-0 Ebusua Dwarfs

Published on: 11 July 2021

King Faisal Babes cruised to victory on Sunday morning to keep their survival hopes alive when they beat Ebusua Dwarfs at the Ohene Ameyaw Park in Techiman.

Faisal saw off the Crabs with a 2-0 win to stretch their unbeaten to five games and also move out of the relegation zone.

The 'Insha Allah Boys' climb up about five places to the 11th position on the league standings with the vital victory.

Faisal trainer Nurudeen Ahmed made only one change to the squad that held Asante Kotoko SC to a vital 1-1 draw last week at the Len Clay Stadium in Obuasi.

Kwadwo Frimpong returned from suspension to take the place of midfielder Wadudu Yakubu.

Former Ghana international Seidu Salifu was handed his 11th straight start in the Green shirt while Danlad Ibrahim retained his position between the sticks.

Dwarfs head coach James Kuuku Dadzie also made just one alteration to the team that drew 1-1 with league leaders Hearts of Oak last week in Cape Coast.

Central defender Emmanuel Anaful returned from suspension to replace Prince Kpodo in the starting lineup on Sunday morning.

The first half was virtually balanced as both sides were threading cautiously and created very few scoring opportunities.

The 'Insha Allah Boys' finally broke the deadlock of the match in the 52nd minute as Frimpong put them in the lead.

Nine minutes later Zubairu Ibrahim doubled the advantage for the home side with a fine finish.

The Abontoa Abontoa Boys tried to fight back for at least a consolation but their efforts couldn't break down the solid Faisal defence.

Faisal will now require at least one point from their last match of the campaign against Liberty Professionals next week in Sogakope.

Dwarfs will also be needing a win at all cost over Bechem United on the last day before they can maintain their premiership status.
