Maxwell Konadu has been appointed as the interim coach of the country’s Under- 20 side, the Ghana Football Association has confirmed.

The position became vacant following the resignation of Orland Wellington on Tuesday.

The ex-Heart of Lions and Berekum Chelsea trainer was heavily criticized for  failing to inspire confidence ahead of the qualifier against the East African side and opted to jump the boat before was pushed out.

The Black Stars assistant coach will assume full responsibility ahead of the Black Satellites  African Youth qualifier against Uganda on July 27.

Konadu will stay on until a permanent replacement is found.

The FA also dismissed reports of an imminent dismissal of CK Akunnor as the assistant by confirming the Hearts trainer will deputize for coach Konadu.

Meanwhile Tema Youth coach Prince Yaw Owusu has been drafted into the technical team of the  Black Satellites.
