Maxwell Konadu confirms interest in Black Stars assistant coaching job

Asante Kotoko coach Maxwell Konadu has confirmed he is very much interested in the coaching role with the Black Stars.

The ex-Ghana international has been heavily linked to serving as an assistant to Kwasi Appiah.

And though no official contact has been made to this effect, the 39-year-old says he will be willing to quit the Premier League leaders for a role on the Black Stars technical bench.

"Why not? If they call me to come and do it I think I will take it up," he told GHANAsoccernet.com in an exclusive interview.

"I haven't spoken to any management member at the GFA so I cannot say much about that."

The combination of Appiah and Konadu formed a strong partnership that powered Ghana's U-23 team to a historic gold medal feat at last year's All Africa Games in Maputo, Mozambique.
