Maxwell Konadu wants to guide Black Satellites to 2013 AYC

Maxwell Konadu has expressed his desire to guide the country’s Under-20 team to next year's African Youth Championship.

The ex-Asante Kotoko trainer guided the team to secure qualification after Orlando Wellington resigned from the post.

The Ghana Football Association is undecided on the future of Konadu with the Under-20 team after it emerged his role as the Black Stars assistant coach could come in the way of his job.

The Black Stars would be engaged incidentally at the time  the Black Satellites would also be at the peak of their preparations for the African Youth Championship which kicks off in February.

But coach Konadu is relishing the prospect of guiding the team to the championship in Algeria next year.

“It’s the natural thing to do that I guide the team to the African Youth Championship after qualifying the team,” Konadu told Accra-based Happy FM

“But that decision lie in the hands of the authorities. So we should allow them to make the final decision.

“I am just ready to serve and so wherever they put me, I will be fine with it.”

The Ghanaians have been paired with host Algeria, Egypt and Benin at the group stage of the competition.
